FIELD: chemistry; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the chemical-pharmaceutical industry and is a method of producing edible particles and edible particles themselves for suppressing appetite, providing a feeling of satiety, body weight reduction and/or prevention, and/or treating obesity or disease or condition associated with obesity, having a sieve diameter in range of 0.05 to 3 mm, containing a water-swellable or water-soluble polymer component, and a first lipid component which contains medium- or long-chain fatty acid, wherein said water-swellable or water-soluble polymer component is enclosed within said lipid component and/or coated with said lipid component. Group of inventions also includes solid compositions for oral administration, dosage form containing said particles, as well as use of said compositions for preventing and/or treating obesity, suppressing appetite, providing satiety and/or body weight reduction.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides more effective delivery of a fatty acid to the gastrointestinal mucosa; prolongs physical integrity of introduced particle after ingestion, which leads to accelerated evacuation of particles from stomach.
