FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining a coefficient of reducing the a priori assessment of the accuracy of determining azimuth with gyrotheodolite relates to geodesy, can be used in a priori calculations of the accuracy of determining azimuth with a gyrotheodolite or gyro-compass (hereinafter gyrotheodolite), as well as when designing and validating the observation technique by any gyrotheodolite. Disclosed method comprises performing a calibration program of n starts (determination of n azimuth values a gyrotheodolite ai control direction), calculation of deviations (ai-a0) for azimuths ai, obtained by gyrotheidolite from each start, a0 – reference value of azimuth, calculation of deviations (ai-aav) from average azimuth values for azimuths obtained by gyrotheodolite from each start, and calculating values of coefficients Kn for analysed gyrotheodolite at each of n starts by formula:

EFFECT: high reliability of a priori estimation of accuracy of determination of azimuth with gyrotheodolite.
