FIELD: photogrammetry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to photogrammetry and can be used for remote sensing of the Earth. The essence of the proposed method consists in the implementation of the following stages, namely: the placement of reference aircraft (RA) between the photographed terrain and the Earth remote sensing aircraft (ERSA); photographing the terrain and RA against the background of this terrain with simultaneous fixation of the moment of photographing, receiving and recording data from radio navigation systems (RNS) on the ERSA and every RA; transmission to the terrain image processing device of data about the moment of photographing, data from the RNS; conversion of data from the RNS into location data (coordinates) of the ERSA at the time of photographing and into location data (coordinates) of at least four RAs at the time of photographing; calculation of the elements of external orientation of the image.
EFFECT: determining the elements of the external orientation of the terrain (object) image without using a ground-based planned high-altitude basis.
