FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of alloying at electric arc welding and surfacing and can be used in various industries, mainly in welding and deposition of metal layers with special properties. Proposed method comprises feeding protective gas medium and arc excitation into welding and welding zone. Protective gas medium used is reducing gas mixtures based on carbon monoxide containing pairs of organometallic compounds containing alloying elements. Organometallic compounds used can be carbonyl chromium, or molybdenum carbonyl, or tungsten carbonyl, or manganese carbonyl.
EFFECT: expansion of technological capabilities, increase of hardness and strength of welded seam or weld metal by introduction of alloying elements from gas medium with possibility of fast change of chemical composition of deposited metal and elimination of burning out of alloying elements from welded metal.
