SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device for hair cutting on body of subject, wherein said hair cutting device contains radiation source for creation of laser radiation with one or several specific wavelengths corresponding to wavelengths absorbed by one or more chromophores in hair; and a cutting element, which includes an optical waveguide connected to a radiation source for receiving laser radiation, in which a portion of the side wall of said optical waveguide forms a cutting surface for contact with hair and in which at least on the cutting surface the optical waveguide has a refraction index equal to or less than the refraction index of the hair, and greater than the skin refraction index.
