FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electrodynamic brake systems for vehicles. Proposed device comprises motor, friction braking module and accumulator. Control device generates braking force according to accelerator pedal opening degree for vehicle deceleration. At that, the drive control device contains a controller made with possibility to control the motor and the friction braking module according to the accelerator pedal opening degree. Controller determines whether the battery is recuperative or not, based on the available capacity of the battery. Controller generates braking force by motor when controller determines that accumulator is not recuperative based on available capacity of accumulator. Controller generates regenerative braking force by motor when accumulator is not recuperative, and charging current flowing to accumulator is negative. Also disclosed is a method of controlling an electric vehicle drive.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing smooth stop of vehicle when battery is fully charged.
