FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrument-making, laser, telecommunication, display and biomedical engineering when used in eye protection devices for welders, aircraft pilots, etc. Polarized iodine-polyvinyl film contains iodized polyvinyl alcohol with low content of acetate groups as a polarization base. Both surfaces of the film are structured with quartz nanoparticles by their laser application on the surface of films with the help of CO2-laser and orientation in electric field with intensity of 100–600 V/cm.
EFFECT: maintaining transmission in visible spectral range with increase in mechanical strength by 2_6 times.
