FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal space-time light modulator is proposed, representing a multilayer electro-optical structure comprising a film of a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) sensitised with a photosensitive complex with a charge transfer on the basis of the system: polyimide-quantum points of the row CdSe(ZnS), CdS/ZnS, InP/ZnS. To align LC molecules, an aligning coating is used on the basis of non-photosensitive polyimide films. When this device is functioning, it is proposed to use a permanent or a pulse lighting and a pulse supply voltage.
EFFECT: using as an electro-optical layer of a NLC, sensitised with a mixture consisting of a complex with transfer of a charge of polyimide-quantum points of a row CdSe(ZnS), CdS/ZnS, InP/ZnS, made it possible to increase efficiency of a modulator by an order of magnitude with reduced concentration of an introduced sensitising additive.
