SUBSTANCE: method of relieving or treating the symptoms of cancer and/or effects of chemotherapy or kinase inhibitors. What is described is the use of a diet for treating cancer in a subject, the diet comprising: obtaining a low-calorie diet by a subject during the first time period of 3 to 14 days, wherein the low-calorie diet provides not more than 1,000 kcal a day, where the subject is administered a kinase inhibitor before, during or after the subject has received a low-calorie diet and where the low-calorie diet includes a first-day diet component which is at least 90 % vegetable-derived.
EFFECT: technical result – short-term fasting and diet increase effectiveness of kinase inhibitor and chemotherapy in reducing cell viability in many cancer cell lines, effective increase of cancer cells sensitivity to chemotherapy.
