FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of aluminum alloys and can be used in the manufacture of articles operating at elevated temperatures. Aluminum alloy containing zirconium and at least one element selected from the group consisting of iron and nickel has a structure that is an aluminum matrix with the particles of the second-phase Al3Zr with a crystal lattice L12 and with a size of not more than 20 nm and eutectic phase particles in an amount of 0.5 to 3.0 % by weight containing iron and/or nickel, the aluminum matrix containing by mass not more than 1/3 of zirconium from the total content of zirconium in the alloy. In this case, the alloy contains the elements in the following ratio, wt%: zirconium 0.22–0.70; iron 0.20–0.80; nickel 0.005–0.4; aluminum and inevitable impurities – the balance.

EFFECT: alloy has an increased thermal resistance and is characterized by a combination of a high level of physical mechanical characteristics and manufacturability.
