FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding of thick-wall metal structures, in particular to welding of longitudinal seams of molded cylindrical billet, and can be used in production of large-diameter welded pipes. In the process of hybrid laser-arc welding of large diameter pipes, ultrasonic treatment is performed. First arc welding torch is actuated at joint of welded tubular billet, then with laser beam, then with second arc welding torch. Ultrasonic treatment is carried out by means of two electromagnet-acoustic sensors installed on both sides of joint of welded tubular billet at distance of 120 mm from welding bath.

EFFECT: improvement of mechanical characteristics of weld seam.
