METHOD FOR ASSESSING NEUROLOGICAL LIMB DEFICIENCY IN EXPERIMENTAL RATS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2697791 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental biology, and can be used for assessing neurological limb deficiency in experimental rats by detecting extremity performance in response to stimulation. Method consists of 5 main tests. In each of the tests the working capacity of the individual extremity of an animal is evaluated. Obtained data of five tests for an animal's left and right side are summarized separately. Value of 12 points for the left and right side corresponds to the absence of neurological deficiency of extremities. Less than 12 points for left and less than 12 for right side – presence of neurological deficiency of limbs in experimental rats.

EFFECT: method enables detecting reduced limb serviceability, minor disorders and dividing the borderline states of the neurological deficiency with higher reliability due to the developed test system, which is sensitive to degree of obtained damage and capable of catching any shifts in neurological status of animal, occurring as a result of medicinal correction, affecting cerebral plasticity.
