FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neurophysiology, experimental medicine and veterinary science and is a method for testing decerebrated animals, involving observation and recording the restoration of motor coordination of muscles, which is carried out using a treadmill and subsequent massage, wherein myograms of antagonistic muscles of hind limbs are recorded, wherein congenital motor coordination of muscles is tested, which is carried out sequentially, in four initial positions, at that, in the first position, preservation of optokinetic and pupillary reflexes, orienting movements of the head and eyes to sensory stimuli is tested with recording of phasic movements of the head and body and tonic tension of cervical muscles, testing the safety of saccadic and tracking movements of the head and eyes during movement of visual stimuli on the monitor screen with different speed, when detecting violations of said motor reactions, performing orientation movements of the head and eyes on presentation of spatially spaced visual stimuli by their repeated presentation, in the second position, the ability to exercise the front extremities of motor responses to tactile stimuli is tested and trained, as well as to the development of conditioned motor reflexes by squeezing the lever of the manipulator to the presentation of sensory signals of different modality, accompanied by a reward with adequate performance of motor reactions, while performing continuous monitoring of the functional state and parameters of motor reactions, including the value of the load, the presence of attempts to perform the motor response, the latency period, the force of pressing the lever, duration, nature and dynamics of the motor reaction of the animal when pressing the lever of the manipulator, associated with a change in posture, and performing movements requiring redistribution of the muscular load on the muscles of the body, support and working extremities of the animal, in the third position, the animal is tested for motor responses to tactile irritations of the skin of the front and rear extremities, after which the ability of the animal to independently maintain a posture in a standing position on a support base with isolated elevation of one extremity is tested, as well as performing a motivated motor reaction with the front paws when rewarding the animal with food, the muscular load on the animal’s extremities during coordinated movements is gradually increased by moving the support base upwards by rotating the support nuts along the threaded surface of the support posts of the device, while maintaining a stable posture of the animal in a standing position with support on all limbs, a treadmill is installed on the support base for the subsequent locomotor training of the animal, during testing and locomotor training functional state of animal is controlled, in fourth position limitation of head mobility is weakened, wherein motor responses to tactile skin irritations of trunk and extremities and performance of postural and indicative responses in the form of eye movements are tested, turning the head and body towards the presented sensory signal, then testing the recovery of congenital food-procuring movements performed by the front extremities when the animal is removing food from the narrow tube supplied by the experimentalist, wherein motor response testing and locomotor training in third and fourth positions are carried out using a treadmill.
EFFECT: use of the invention will make it possible to increase the accuracy of diagnosis of motor dysfunctions and accompanying sensorimotor disorders in animals with traumatic injuries, localized in different parts of the spinal cord, with constant monitoring of the functional state of the animal, create optimal conditions for motor training and physiotherapeutic procedures aimed at rehabilitation of decerebrated animals.
