SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, to thoracic surgery, cardiology, to ultrasonic examinations and can be used in echocardiographic diagnostics in patients following pneumonectomy. Echocardiography is performed in the patients after pneumonectomy on the right. Examination is carried out in a prone position on the left side of two access points. First point is located in the third intercostal space along the midclavicular line on the right. Second “apical” point is located in the fourth intercostal space on right in 2–3 cm from the sternum. When performing echocardiography in the patients following pneumonectomy on the left, the examination is performed in the supine position also from two access points. First point is located in the second and third intercostal space along the midclavicular line on the left. Second “apical” point is located in the fourth intercostal space on the left in the middle axillary line.

EFFECT: method enables reflecting features of topographic-anatomical changes of the heart in a remote period after pneumonectomy and determining the original points for performing heart ultrasonography.
