FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and aims at delivering a therapeutic agent. Microstructure apparatus for delivering a therapeutic agent comprises a back having a first surface and a second surface opposite to it; an array of microstructures comprising a plurality of microstructures extending outward from a first back surface; microstructures that contain biodegradable distal layer and at least one proximal layer located between distal layer and first surface of back. Distal layer consists of at least one therapeutic agent and at least one polymer (i) selected from (a) hydrophobic polymer and (b) polymer with glass transition temperature of about 20–25 °C or higher than it; or (ii) in concentration in a polymer casting solution used to form a distal layer of microstructures, which is equal to or less than its weaving (CE) concentration. Polymer selection is such that at least a portion of the distal layer is detached from the microstructures when the matrix is inserted into the skin. Method of producing said microstructural apparatus is also provided.

EFFECT: using the group of inventions enables providing more effective delivery of a therapeutic agent which is delayed and/or occurs over a prolonged period of time with minimal discomfort and/or pain.
