METHOD FOR SIMULATING FILTRATION PADS USING SCLERAL-CONJUNCTIVAL DISSECTOR Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/07

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Method for simulating fibrous-modified filtration pads occurring in the postoperative period in patients with glaucoma consists in inspection of the filtration zone. Using a scleral-conjunctival dissector, which is pricked in 3 mm from fibrous-modified filtration pad, tool working part is advanced to zone of fibrous-changed filtration cushion by 1–2 mm entering it from opposite side. When dilating the working part of the instrument and reversing movement, scleral-conjunctival adhesions are separated, leaving the zone of fibrous-changed filtration pad 1–2 mm apart. Working ends of the instrument are brought down from under the conjunctiva and are penetrated by progressive movements under the scleral flap, and come out from the opposite side of the scleral flap at 1–2 mm. Thereafter, the working part of the instrument is moved apart and brought out from under the scleral flap into the subconjunctival space.

EFFECT: using the given invention enables low-risk separation of both scleral-conjunctival and scleral-scleral adhesions and to form an active filter cushion.
