FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy and oncology, and can be used for topometry during intracavitary radiotherapy of oesophageal cancer. A digital simulator is used to project the tumour boundaries on the skin with an intrastate apparatus in the oesophagus under endoscopic control and subsequent X-ray control. Fixed distance between skin and radiation source is fixed equal to 80 cm. Intrastat is arranged distally to the tumour at a distance of not less than 3–4 cm. Centering catheter is introduced into intrastat, where radioactive source is unloaded during treatment. X-ray contrast markers are placed on the guide inside the centering catheter to simulate the position of the radioactive source. X-ray contrast markers indicating tumour boundaries are fixed on the patient's skin. X-ray control of the centering catheter is performed in two projections using X-ray contrast markers. Based on the obtained data, a three-dimensional model of the centering catheter is constructed and dosimetric analysis is performed.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of scheduling brachytherapy of oesophageal cancer by combining X-ray and endoscopic data.
