FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to contactor of accelerated damping of rotor field of synchronous machine. Volume of damages at the place of accident significantly depends on speed of machine field damping. Contactor is intended for acceleration of magnetic field suppression of synchronous machines. Despite the distribution of fully controlled rectifiers, which realize the inverting mode, which enables to quickly quench the field in emergency modes, only field damping to the resistor provides maximum reliability of the process. Proposed invention supplements this classic method of damping by accelerating the process. Invention is based on the original design of a magnetic conductor with several rods and a winding arranged so that switching of the stages of the quenching resistor is performed automatically in the simplest and most reliable way. Absence of control circuits is a guarantee of predicted course of the process, and when using contacts using arc-quenching in vacuum, it ensures high resource and compactness of the device.
EFFECT: absence of influence on contactor of radiation and temperatures makes it possible to apply it in the most difficult operating conditions.
