FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing catalysts. Described is a method of producing a supported catalyst for hydrotreatment of heavy oil fractions, which consists of a carbon support with particle size of 10-100 nm and molybdenum carbide, which involves saturating the carbon support with a solution of molybdenum salt, drying and solid-phase carbidisation in an inert atmosphere, the support used being a carbon material with a globular structure, and solid-phase carbidasation is carried out by mechanochemical activation in a mechanical or hydrodynamic action apparatus, preferably in a planetary centrifugal mill, at room temperature for 30-60 minutes and acceleration of grinding bodies of at least 1000 m/s2.
EFFECT: high activity and selectivity of the catalyst.
