FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of coating a substrate surface, for example inorganic particles, with a metal oxide. Method involves depositing metal oxide from an aqueous solution containing metal ions and polyvalent anions. In particular, the coating is made from aluminum oxide on the surface of a titanium dioxide substrate. By increasing the molar ratio of anions to metal ions on the surface of the substrate in said solution to at least 3, reducing the area of the specific surface of the coating from the said metal oxide is calculated.

EFFECT: invention provides more autonomous control of such properties of said coating, such as area of specific surface and position of isoelectric point, with avoiding the need to use additional coating compositions for surfaces free from coating.
