SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to ship building and can be used in making an inner hole in a long pipe by means of a boring device directly on ships or when boring guide tracks and obturation rings of torpedo launchers. Method for producing an inner hole in a long pipe directly on a vessel using a boring device, in which the amount of deviation of the geometric centres of the bases of the installed boring device and the hole being bored from the specified geometric axis of the installation is determined using a light beam directed at the boring device. Light source is rotated about the given geometrical axis of the installation. Boring device contains a portable boring machine consisting of a boring bar with a slot, two lead screws, two supports, a feed mechanism, bearings, a shackle, a drive, as well as a traverse, a loading section, a boring section, a lodgement, a counterweight, a nozzle, auxiliary equipment for fixing the boresight baseline, equipment for checking the misalignment of the axis of rotation of the cutting head and the axis of the portable boring mill with a central guide in the form of a pipe on which the nose and aft alignment units are located, a cutting head installed with the possibility of reciprocating movement along a central guide, and the possibility of rotation of the cutters around the body of the cutting head. Each centring unit of portable boring machine is equipped with four electric drives with retractable supports, they are connected to each other with torque bar, lead screw of longitudinal feed of boring head and rotation shaft of cutting head from electric drive. Drive for moving the portable boring machine is located in the lodgement.

EFFECT: provides boring of an inner hole in a long pipe directly on the vessel using a boring device with the possibility of performing work in the conditions of an external niche of the vessel's hull with the front flange of the pipe being bored.
