SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport and can be used in construction and repair of a section of an underground pipeline opened from soil from steel pipes. Method of pipe alignment during their butt welding includes application of pipe layers and centralizer, alignment of conjugated pipes by their displacement. Coaxiality of centered pipes is ensured by placing pipe layers along the length of the pipeline section opened from the ground. Number and required forces of pipeline lifting by pipe layers, distance between them is determined by solution of proposed system of equations.

EFFECT: easier alignment of pipes during their butt welding with simultaneous increase in alignment of centered pipes with elimination of pipeline damage.
