SUBSTANCE: method comprises stripping the pipeline at the defect site, cleaning the section for setting the clutch, applying strengthening compound, preparing two clutch members for welding, setting the clutch members on the pipeline to overlap the defect site, squeezing the clutches, and welding the clutches.
