FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of pipe alignment and can be used in repair and construction works for connection of a section of a gas pipeline to an operating network, including under pressure. Branch pipe is prepared, having on one end a threaded part equipped with a plug, and on the other—a pointed part. Branch pipe is installed into the housing of one of the cylindrical clamps of the centralizer and the sharpened part is inserted inside the cut section of the gas pipeline, end of the latter is fitted in the case of the other cylindrical clamp of the centralizer. Pipe and branch pipe ends are centered by means of bolts and pins and the pipe and branch pipe are welded together to produce a weld seam. After removal of the centralizer, the plug is removed from the threaded part of the branch pipe and the threaded part of the branch pipe is connected to another cut-off section of the gas line.

EFFECT: method provides alignment of pipeline sections with different-diameter pipes with provision of coincidence of ends of pipes for their further welding.
