FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of chitosan-based porous material which can be used in cell and tissue engineering, in medicine as wound coatings, haemostatic and plugging materials, materials for filling soft and bone tissue defects, in biotechnology for immobilisation of enzymes and microorganisms, in water treatment and waste water treatment as sorbents. Method of producing porous material involves chemical cross-linking of chitosan at negative temperature, cross-linking is carried out in a solution of chitosan in hydrochloric acid, diglycidyl ethers of glycols are used as a cross-linking agent.

EFFECT: technical result consists in single-step production of unpoloured biocompatible cryogels of chitosan, stable for use in a wide pH range; obtained supermacroporous materials are characterized by a system of through pores, are nontoxic when implanted into living beings, and a swollen condition is ensured by free flow of liquid.
