FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of oil examination, for assessment of their tendency to formation of high-temperature deposits (HTD) as a result of thermal oxidative destruction of oil on surfaces of heat-loaded parts of gas turbine engines. Method consists in that oil poured into crankcase is heated by means of the first heater, at equal intervals oil is sprayed on aluminium plate by rotating spindle with fixed on it needles, method involves heating the aluminium plate with a second heater, the test is carried out for four hours, then the mass of high-temperature deposits (HTD) formed on the plate is determined from the difference in its weight before and after the test. At that, oil heating by the first heater is performed to temperature of 60 °C, a series of tests is carried out by heating the aluminium plate in steps of 5 to 25 °C sequentially from 200 to 350 °C, plotting a graph of the dependence of the weight of the HTD on the temperature of the plate, determining the temperature of appearance of deposits visually according to the graph, which is used to assess oil addiction to formation of HTD, and then determining the HTD index (IHTD) by integrating the obtained relationship using a trapezoid method using a given formula.
EFFECT: higher reliability of test results aimed at assessment of influence of propensity of oils to formation of HTD on operational reliability of engines.
