SUBSTANCE: invention relates to crystalline bis-ammonium molybdropterate of a transition metal and to use thereof as a hydrotreatment catalyst. Disclosed is crystalline bis-ammonium molybdotungstate material of transition metal of formula: (NH3)2-nM(OH2)nMoxWyOz, where "n" is in range from 0.1 to 2.0; "M" is a metal selected from Mg, Mn, Fe, Co Ni, Cu, Zn and mixtures thereof; "X" is in range from 0.5 to 1.5; "Y" is in range from 0.01 to 0.25; sum (x+y) should be ≤1.501; "Z" is a number which corresponds to the sum of valences M, Mo and W. Inventions also relate to a hydrotreatment catalyst comprising a sulphided material of a crystalline bis-ammonium molybdenungstate of a transition metal, to a method for production thereof, to a method of producing a hydrotreatment catalyst comprising a sulphided material of a crystalline bis-ammonium molybdotungstate of a transition metal, to a hydrotreatment process involving contacting the feedstock with the disclosed catalyst under hydrotreatment conditions to obtain at least one product.
EFFECT: obtaining a new hydrotreatment catalyst which enables to efficiently remove sulfur-containing and nitrogen-containing compounds from fuel material.
