FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of creating a two-dimensional matrix code (DMC) or similar two-dimensional code on the eye of a jar for a beverage uses a laser having a focal ratio in range of 40 to 70 to obtain spots having an average diameter in range of 200 to 400 mcm. Code has dimensions smaller than 6 × 6 mm, at least 12 × 12 modules and less than 21 × 21 module, which enables to obtain a sufficient number of unique codes for jars manufactured in industrial quantities. In preferable case, each module represents one spot created by means of laser. As an alternative, nine spots can be used to produce the module.
EFFECT: invention discloses marking of ears with a two-dimensional code.
