FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to multichannel hydroacoustic systems and can be used for monitoring of underwater situation along the motion of underwater carrier, detection in a given sector of potentially dangerous for navigation obstacles and determination of parameters of motion of underwater objects. Method is based on using as a sounding signal a periodic sequence of radio pulses with linear frequency modulation and alternate frequency change of the frequency deviation.
EFFECT: technical result is broader capabilities of forward-looking sonar due to measurement of radial speed and direction of movement of underwater objects, as well as high accuracy of measuring distance to an obstacle by compensating for errors occurring when reflecting a probing signal from a moving object as a result of the Doppler effect.
