FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to cardiac surgery. What is involved is the examination of a patient with an implanted vascular homograft valve (VHV). The echocardiography aims at determining a right ventricular (RV) pressure, and if deriving the value less than 30 mm Hg, the cardiovascular system state is considered to be satisfactory. The relevant value being 30 mm Hg and more requires examining the VHV region by means of the echocardiography for the presence of thrombus. A degree of VHV and tricuspid valve regurgitation is determined. It is followed by the analysis for the presence of VHV stenosis, including its branches with implementing a peak pressure gradient between the RV and the pulmonary artery and between the VHV trunk and pulmonary artery branches of the SCG, respectively; the analysis results are expressed in a certain number of points. The derived points are summed If total score is more than four, urgent surgical VHV replacement is considered to be needed. If total score occurs to fall within the range of two to four, the additional ECG is conducted, and the additional points are added by the derived electrocardiogram results. Thereafter, the points obtained at all the stages of assessment are summed, and if total score exceeds four, urgent surgical VHV replacement is considered to be needed. In case total score is two to four, temperature measurement and blood culture for sterility are conducted to be added to total score.

EFFECT: method provides the reliable prediction of the need for an urgent surgical VHV replacement.
