FIELD: soil or rock drilling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling of low-temperature fluid wells with a solid bottomhole in powerful ice massifs of the Arctic and Antarctic and can be used for drilling by simultaneous or sequential expansion of wells in ice. Thermal shell for melting drilling contains housing with pump compartment with pump installed in it, heating elements and crown made in the form of cylinder with rounded lower edges and solid end surface, in which there is a collector connected to a double pipe, the upper part of which is connected to the pump compartment. Inside the crown walls there are through arc-shaped channels located diametrically opposite to each other, at the same time an annular heating element is installed inside the crown. Projectile is capable to expand simultaneously its cross-section, as well as to conduct formation of local cavities, is reliable in operation, has low power consumption and simple design. At its usage, reduction of power consumption of drilling process, as well as bottom-hole circulation of heat carrier is achieved.
EFFECT: creation of vortex flow of heat carrier will allow to form smooth walls of well of constant diameter.
