FIELD: equipment for drilling holes in ice. SUBSTANCE: device operation is based on melting and washing out of ice due to hydrodynamic and heat flows of hot heat carrier, as well as due to heat concentration on sharp edges of drill bit body forming bottom hole. Device consists of drill bit body forming bottom hole which is made solid with spherical end face directed towards bottom hole. Presence of header in body contributes to more uniform distribution and supply of heated fluid to bottom hole that in this turn increases effectiveness of ice melting. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
