FIELD: drilling technique, driving of circle-shaped bottom holes in ice covering in Arctic and Antarctic regions. SUBSTANCE: bit includes body-heater, heating element, windows cut in body-heater for thawed water and enclosure put on body-heater with clearance L≥0,02D where D is bit diameter with formation of space. Helical groove where heating element coming in the form of heating cable is laid is cut in surface of body-heater. Windows in body-heater are arranged in diametrical opposition to first turn of heating cable. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of drilling-melting of ice thanks to concentration of thermal energy directly on ice melting in zone of hole bottom and to preservation of its directivity in process of drilling. 1 dwg
