SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection, namely to fire-fighting equipment, in particular to methods of forest fire extinguishing by explosion and is intended for localization and extinguishing of forest, steppe fires with the help of rapid creation of mineralized support and barrier strip on rough terrain in any natural and climatic conditions. Objective of this invention is to increase safety, efficiency of explosion energy and environmental cleanliness use, to reduce labour costs during forest fires extinguishing. Set task is solved by rapid creation of mineralized support, barrier strips of required depth, width and configuration, reduced time for localization and fire extinguishing, reduction of damage to forest by fire, due to use of high-power detonating cord manufactured by industry with mass of explosive substance 80…100 g/m and containers with fire-extinguishing composition. Method of extinguishing forest fires involves arranging a detonating cord on the ground at a safe distance from the fire zone ahead of its propagation, attaching containers with a fire extinguishing compound and exploding. During detonation of the detonating cord, a shock wave is formed, which forms a mineralized strip, spreads the soil and creates a cloud of the sprayed fire-extinguishing substance, which extinguishes the flame outbreak from the explosion.

EFFECT: soil and sprayed fire-extinguishing composition are deposited on the surface and do not allow burning of the forest cover and litter, as a result of which a protective strip is formed.
