FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of localization and extinguishing of forest and steppe fires. Method of localizing and extinguishing grassroots forest and steppe fires involves the installation of a barrier strip of modular fire-resistant elements, wherein modular fire-resistant elements are placed in front of the edge of the fire, wherein each subsequent modular fire-resistant element is installed with a side overlap with the previous one, the single panel of the next modular fire-resistant element is inserted into the groove formed by the washer, between the single panel and the single frame of the previous modular fire-resistant element, wherein the modular fire-resistant element is installed with grousers in the soil depth by 3–5 cm.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of localization and extinguishing of forest and steppe fires and implementation of spontaneous extinguishing.
