FIELD: electrical equipment; electric power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering and can be used for determination of damage point of power transmission lines in electric networks 6–750 kV. Method comprises: determining a point of damage to a power transmission line, comprising recording additionally the currents and voltages measured with high time resolution, monitoring the presence of a signal of global precise time from the satellite system at each end of the line, absence of a global accurate time signal from a satellite system and in the absence of a global time signal from a satellite system on at least one end of the line, generating a local local time signal, coordinated by a signal transmitted from the end of the line, where there is a global time signal from satellite system. In each semi-set there is a unit for recording voltages and currents measured with high time resolution, global precise time signal control unit and local precise time signal generator, connected via communication port through second communication channel to similar port of local exact time signal former of second half-complete set, first input of local accurate time signal generator is connected to output of global precise time signal receiving unit and input of global precise time signal monitoring unit, second input of local accurate time signal generator is connected to output of global precise time signal monitoring unit, first input of recording unit of measured with increased time resolution of voltages and currents is connected to output of voltage and current meter unit of power transmission lines, second input of registration unit with high time resolution of voltages and currents is connected to output of comparator unit, third input of recording unit with high time resolution of voltages and currents is connected to output of local accurate time signal former, output of registration unit with increased time resolution of voltages and currents is connected to input of calculator of point of damage.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of disclosed technical solutions and wider field of use thereof.
