FIELD: electrical engineering; electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering; it can be used to determine the location of damage to power lines in medium-voltage electrical networks. A device for determining the location of damage to a power line consists of two half-sets connected to corresponding ends of the power line. Each half-set contains two measuring units, a measuring unit, an input of which is connected to measuring transformer converters at the corresponding end of the power line, a unit for comparison with threshold values, an input of which is connected to an output of the first measuring unit, a unit for receiving signals of global accurate time from a satellite system, a unit for recording electrical signals with increased time resolution, in which the first input is connected to the output of the first measuring unit, the second input is connected to an output of the unit for comparison with threshold values, the third input is connected to an output of unit for receiving signals of global accurate time from the satellite system, and a unit of a calculator of the location of damage to the power line, an input of which is connected to an output of the unit for recording electrical signals, and an output is connected via a communication port via a communication channel to a similar communication port of the second half-set. Each half-set additionally contains the second measuring unit made with the possibility of receiving broadband frequency signals, and an RF signal sensor. An output of the second measuring unit is connected to the fourth input of the unit for recording electrical signals, and an input is connected to an output of the RF signal sensor connected through a capacitor unit to at least one phase of the line at the corresponding end of the power line.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of determining the location of damage.
