FIELD: electric power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering and can be used for remote determination of short-circuiting point at power line under operating voltage. In the method for remote determination of a short-circuit point on a power line having a length l, the damaged phases are determined, the relative value of the distance to the short-circuit point n is determined and the absolute distance to the short-circuit point on the side of the end of the line with the index ' by expression l'=n⋅l. At the same time from two ends of the line digital transformers of current and voltage are installed, synchronized with a system of common time, each of which is equipped with a DC sensor, resistive or resistive-capacitive voltage divider, Rogovsky's belt. Using the DC sensor, time-synchronized instantaneous values of phase currents are obtained. Resistive or resistive-capacitive voltage divider is used to obtain time-synchronized instantaneous values of voltages. Rogovsky's belt is used to obtain time synchronized instantaneous values of derivatives of phase currents. Phase currents and voltages vectors are calculated. During normal operation of the line, vectors of phase currents and voltages are calculated. Matrices of modal components of currents and voltages, matrices of modal resistances are formed. Matrices of phase resistances, resistance of the forward and zero sequences are calculated. Line resistance R and the inductance of the L line are determined. During the short circuit, instantaneous values of currents, current and voltage derivatives at both ends of the line are calculated. Calculation of relative value of distance to point of short circuit is performed.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of remote determination of short-circuit point at power transmission lines under operating voltage.
