FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the place of short circuit on power transmission lines (PTL) with unsynchronized measurements from its two ends. Instantaneous values of phase currents are measured from both ends of the line (i´A, i´B, i´C), (i´´A, i´´B, i´´C) and voltages (u´A, u´B, u´C), (u´´A, u´´B, u´´C) during short circuit. Oscillograms of currents and voltages are obtained. Oscillograms are combined from two ends of the line along the cut of the beginning of short circuit. One or several arrays of M (m = 1, ..., M) consecutive instantaneous values for each of the oscillograms of current and voltage of the damaged phase i´(m), i´´(m), u´(m), u´´(m) are selected at the interval of two to ten periods from the beginning of the short circuit and formed. Matrices of voltages U1 and U2 are formed using active resistance R and inductance L of PTL, instantaneous values of arrays of currents and voltages. A column matrix X = is introduced. Using voltage matrices U1 and U2 and least squares method by expression X = (U1T U1)−1·U1T·U2 the value of the relative distance to the short circuit point l´ = n·l and voltage at the point of damage U are determined. Information on the value of voltage U at the point of damage when organizing emergency recovery works on the overhead power transmission line is used.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of short circuit location on overhead power transmission line with non-synchronized measurements from its two ends in conditions of currents and voltages deviations from sinusoidal shape, as well as determination of the voltage value at the point of damage.
