FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of cordierite-based porous light-weight articles for production of catalyst supports and filters for treatment of waste water from organic contaminants. Method of producing permeable ceramic material with high heat resistance consists in impregnating the foamed polyurethane with a slip including burnt talc, clay and alumina components and aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, drying and annealing. Aluminum oxide component used is wastes from production of aluminum chromium catalyst for dehydrogenation of isoparaffins, which is pre-calcined at 1,000–1,150 °C. Solid components of the slip are in the following ratio, taking into account the stoichiometric composition of cordierite, wt%: burnt talc 33–38, calcined wastes 13–31, clay component 34–49.
EFFECT: use of the invention simplifies and reduces the cost of producing a ceramic material, increases strength and heat resistance by increasing cordierite content.
