FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and aims at assessing the risk of pterygium recurrence following surgical management. What is presented is a method in which a vascularisation condition in the excision area of the pterygium is assessed by photographic registration and analysis by a computer program Hyperemia-3, and if the hyperemia index is from 0 to 20, the risk of recurrence is considered to be low, if the hyperaemia index is 20 and higher, the risk is evaluated recurrence as high.
EFFECT: invention provides higher prediction of pterygium clinical course in the absence of complications associated with invasive manipulations.
