SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for detecting behaviour change of a vehicle driver. Method for detecting behaviour change of a vehicle driver comprises the following steps of calculating (130) an optimum current value of the magnified state vector at a given moment depending on a previously estimated value of the magnified state vector and a second measurement vector associated with the output vector, wherein the increased state vector comprises at least one component which reproduces the component of the temporal state vector, and at least one component which reproduces the component of the parameterization vector, estimate (140) of the stability degree C(k) of at least one component of the current value of the increased state vector, which reproduces component of parameterization vector, signals (150) on driver behaviour change, if specified degree of stability C(k) indicates instability. Device comprises a post-processing unit, a calculation unit connected to the post-processing unit and located in the on-board computer, which contains the stored cybernetic model.
