FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used in inorganic chemistry. Method of producing bismuth citrate involves treating basic nitric bismuth with sodium hydroxide solution to obtain bismuth oxide. Obtained bismuth oxide is treated with an aqueous solution of citric acid in the presence of lactic acid at temperature of 40–70 °C. Molar ratio of citric acid to bismuth is 1.0–1.15. Concentration of lactic acid in solution is 0.5–1.1 mol/l. Obtained bismuth citrate is washed with water and dried.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the process, eliminates the use of acetic acid, increases the degree of extraction of bismuth into the end product, increases purity of the product on nitrate- and acetate ions.
