FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy of rare metals and specifically to a method of producing bismuth succinate of basic composition (BiO)2C4H4O4. Method involves treatment of bismuth nitrate of basic composition [Bi6O4(OH)4](NO3)6·H2O with sodium hydroxide solution at molar ratio of sodium hydroxide to bismuth equal to 1.1–1.6, reaction of the obtained bismuth oxide with a solution of succinic acid with molar ratio of succinic acid to bismuth equal to 0.6–0.9, and process temperature of 60–80 °C, washing the obtained product with water and drying at temperature of 90–100 °C.
EFFECT: invention provides higher purity of the obtained product, as well as reduced consumption of succinic acid.
