FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, dermatology and oncology, and can be used for treating infantile haemangiomas (IH). That is ensured by daily monotherapy with peroral administration of propranolol. Every three months linear velocity of blood flow is recorded in bringing, haemangioma-feeding vessel (LVB-1) and in at least three intra-parenchymatous discharge vessels (LVB-2). Maximum value of LVB-2 (LVB-2 max) is selected. If the values of LVB-1 and LVB-2 are max, equal to or less than 8 cm/s, the dose of propranolol is reduced by no more than 3 mg/day weekly until it is withdrawn. Initial dose of propranolol can be determined by titration in range of 1 to 2.8 mg/kg/day for 6 days. Linear velocity of blood flow can be determined by ultrasonic examination of haemangioma with Doppler sonography.
EFFECT: method enables higher clinical effectiveness IH by establishing objective criteria of clinical effectiveness in preventing recurrences and preventing by-effects caused by prolonged therapy.
