SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of pipe (1) from hollow billet (2) having opening (3). Device comprises rolling mill (30) for rolling hollow billet (2) on mandrel (21) inserted into hollow (3) of hollow billet (2) to produce tube (1). Behind rolling mill (30) retention device (70) is provided to retain pipe (1), and device itself contains rod (27), made with possibility of connection with mandrel (21) for operation on tension and compression and with possibility of disconnection from it, and is made so that it is possible to withdraw mandrel (21) from pipe (1) after rolling, while pipe (1) is retained by means of retainer (70).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to perform connection between rod and mandrel for operation for tension and compression, in particular for pulling of mandrel from pipe, rolled on mandrel, by means of rod pulling with provision of easy replacement of mandrels.
