SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire-fighting equipment for suppression of large-scale forest, peat, soil, steppe, industrial and emergency transport fires and creation of barrier strips in front of fires localization of upper and lower forest, soil, peat, steppe, industrial, emergency transport and other large-scale fires. Fire extinguishing agent used is a foamed silica gel in form of fast-hardening foam obtained by mixing aqueous solutions of components A and B and foaming mixture of components A and B with atmospheric air, wherein component A used is aqueous solution of mixture of sodium silicate and foaming surfactant, component B is aqueous solution of acetic acid, and the foamed gel of silica is supplied to a fire zone or to a protective strip in the form of at least two jets of fast-hardening foam with possibility of contact or mutual overlapping of jets of quick-setting foam with formation of a single combined jet of fast-setting foam from the foamed gel of silica. Device for fire extinguishing of forest massifs and industrial facilities with fast-hardening foam comprises tanks of fire-extinguishing substance components located on frame with means of its attachment to cable suspension to helicopter, means of mixing and foaming components of fire extinguishing substance to produce foamed fire-extinguishing substance and means of supplying components of fire-extinguishing substance from reservoirs of fire-extinguishing substance components to means of mixing components of fire-extinguishing substance and foaming mixture of fire-extinguishing substance components.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of prevention and suppression of large-scale forest, industrial and emergency-and-transport fires.
