FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science and represents a method for diagnosing porcine and chicken enteritis, in which finely dispersed powder of a water-soluble dye is applied on the filter paper, which is coated with a transparent polymer on an adhesive base, then on layer of filtering paper there are applied pig faeces or chicken droppings, dried for 30 minutes and spot area is measured and volumetric index of humidity is calculated by formula X=S/m, where X is volumetric moisture content index, S is spot area, mm2, m is mass of faeces sample, g, and if deviation of values of volumetric moisture content index from values characteristic for healthy animals, presence of inflammatory changes in intestine is determined, wherein volume index of humidity for healthy pigs is 4.5±2.3, and for healthy hens 4.9±1.4.
EFFECT: use of the declared invention enables faster diagnosis of swine and enteritis.
