SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for detecting diseases caused by C. perfringens in animals. Method comprises collecting sample material from a specific animal or from a specific group of animals at successive points in time; determining the amount of a first marker representing netB and a second marker representing cpa contained in the sample material; determining the ratio of the levels of the first marker and the second marker contained in the sample material. Increase in the ratio of the levels of the first marker and the second marker in the material of the analyzed sample over time indicates avian necrotic enteritis. Described is a diagnostic kit for implementing the method. Kit contains a primer and probes for detecting netB and cpa.

EFFECT: invention provides a fast and reliable non-invasive method of determining whether a population of animals suffers from diseases caused by Clostridium perfringens before death, which can be carried out at low costs and with minimal effort.
