FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of converting energy of solar radiation into electric power. Water-solar power plant using water heated by solar radiation as a heat agent includes a heat exchanger, a steam turbine and an electric generator. Heat channel has a narrow flat slit facing the Sun, coated with glass, wherein the length L of the heat channel is 100 m, width d – 1 m, height h – 0.01 m. In the thermal channel the water moves at a constant rate. Feeding basin is arranged upstream of said channel. Speed of water movement in slot channel is regulated by water level in feed basin. Water in slot channel is heated by solar radiation through glass, which, in its turn, prevents evaporation of water and heat losses, since glass is a good heat insulator. On area of 1 km2 it is possible to place water-solar power station with power of electric generator 215 mWt. At any planned power level of the power plant, capital investments are paid back in less than 1 year.
